Villa Cornaro Villa Cornaro Piombino Dese, Italy Circa : 1553-1554 Andrea Palladio (1508-1580)
This renaissance villa is described and illustrated by Palladio in the second volume of his work: I Quattro Libri dell'Architettura. This then became the inspiration for many other villas, including Drayton Hall and the first Monticello.
The defining exterior feature of the building is the two-storey projecting portico/loggia, with two sets six columns (six with Ionic capitals and six with Corinthian capitals).
