Housed within The Old Pension Building and built after the civil war it was nicknamed “Meigs` Old Red Barn”, after its designer General George Meigs. This great Washington landmark features the Union frieze, which encompasses the building. Today, The Building Museum is America’s premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring architecture, engineering, construction and urban planning
